Farming

A Natural Self-Sustenance Project

Agriculture remains at the heart of self-sufficiency in rural East Africa, providing not only food security but also a sustainable source of income for families. Our farming initiative continues to empower smallholder farmers, particularly widows and vulnerable individuals, by equipping them with the essential resources needed to cultivate their land successfully.

Through this program, each farmer receives maize seeds and fertilizer at a cost of just £100 — enough to cultivate approximately one acre of land. This investment yields a significant return, with annual earnings ranging from £400 to £1,000, depending on rainfall conditions. By enabling farmers to generate reliable income, this initiative helps improve household stability, fund children’s education, and reduce dependency on external aid.

In 2024, we expanded our impact, supporting 350 farming projects across Western Kenya and Uganda. Many of these farmers were widows, for whom this initiative has been a lifeline, fostering economic independence and dignity. The continued success of this project highlights the importance of sustainable agricultural support in transforming rural livelihoods and breaking cycles of poverty.

Looking ahead, we aim to scale this initiative further, ensuring that more families can benefit from the security and opportunity that farming provides. With continued support, we can help even more communities thrive through the power of agriculture.
